The Christian Dior exhibit is now on at the V&A museum in London. The amazing fashion exhibit was shown in Toronto just over a year ago at the ROM. However the Victoria & Albert Museum is displaying a larger range of Dior’s collection Designer of Dreams exhibit is showing until July 14th.
The amazing exhibit is larger than the one shown at the Toronto last year so it well worth a look. It showcases the incredible gowns and outfits, sketches and notes from the designer himself. As well as the incredible embroidery, sequins and beaded details that adorned some of the haute couture dresses. All the extravagance that women had taken a back seat to since the World War ended.
The show at the V&A museum focuses more on the French fashion house had in Britain and it’s relationship and Christian Dior’s personal love for England. “There is no other country in the world, besides my own, whose way of life I like so much.”
I thought I’d share some of photos of the exhibition from the ROM this time last year. These photos will give you a glimpse in to the Dior exhibit at the V&A London, if you’re lucky enough to get some tickets! Fyi it does say sold out on the V&A site but extra tickets are being released on a first come first serve basis. So try your luck!
