Have you ever walked in to a room and just felt a sense of calm and ease? If so, that room was more than likely free of “stuff”. By clearing clutter in a space, the room feels totally different. In a good way! It makes you feel better too! A different space gives a different energy.

Ask and It Is Given by Esther and Jerry Hicks is essentially a book about attracting and manifesting your desires. A part of the the book covers the process about clearing clutter from your environment. And how clearing clutter helps to unblock the good things that you are hoping and asking for. Physical and non physical things including relationships, that you might hope for now or in the future.

It’s all about learning to manifest your desires and goals and the chapter dedicated to clearing clutter shows just how important your surrounding environment is. For a better life and generally just feeling good!

The Science

In school, one of the basics we were taught in science is that everything is made of atoms which vibrate. Different things vibrate at different frequencies than others but everything is made of the same thing. One of the main points from Ask and It Is Given is this:

“…everything carries its own vibration, and because you develop a vibrational relationship with everything in your life, your personal belongings do have an impact on the way you feel and on your point of attraction.”

It’s the energy that is created in your environment by what you have in there. The Chinese call this energy Feng Shui. Bringing in some order and organization to your room can be a powerful thing. It brings some control on what you’re bringing into your home and your life. It can be negative or positive.

Of course there are other things in your life that you can be doing, in helping bring good to yourself and others. It can be a self care day or making time for your hobbies and interests. Clearing some things out is just one of the ways you can bring about good energy.

Minimal Clutter

Having minimal clutter doesn’t mean having a minimalist home. Some people have no problem living as a serious minimalist. Freeing themselves from “stuff” essentially makes themselves feel detached from physical things. Personally, total minimalism isn’t for me, and some of you feel the same way. However there are a few minimalist tips that can be applied for clearing clutter.

  1. My office space. I have paperwork everywhere and I almost get everything off of the desk space and somehow another pile gets added on. I never actually finish clearing the space. I may get really close but never enough to continue keeping it clear. I say I’ll read that later and sometimes months go by and when I actually look at it, it’s really too late.
