When I was in London my friends took me to Elan Cafe, Market Place at Oxford Circus. I was in awe of the decor after seeing it on my friends Instagram story. (This was before my Insta break). A little whimsical, pretty pastel cafe chock full of faux hydrangeas and roses but so nicely done. Dotted around the cafe, cute neon signs curved round the mirrors and stamped on the main walls.

It’s not hard to see why its so popular and why it’s all over Instagram. Just the interior alone is enough to pull in the attraction, flower power. (That’s how they got me) Then you add the cakes, the pretty little desserts and loaded hot chocolates in there…. and of course you have a winner. Brunch options are served at Elan too. I saw some brunch plates come out and they looked super good too. I just had the dessert though.

Getting inspiration from restaurants and other places is a favourite of mine. I find it interesting to see what’s considered “popular” to get business through the door and “free promotion”. Marble is still a pretty big trend in interiors. In Elan they have used a gorgeous red pink marble for the bar area and a white grey marble for the table tops. I’d say it’s a maximalist look with a serene vibe to it. It works, clearly from the expansion of the chain and the consistent posts and queues outside.
Even though I’m on a break from Instagram, I thought it’s too beautiful not share…somewhere. If you’re in London Elan have a few other locations including Park Lane and Selfridges. If you’ve been or going let me know what you think in the comments below!
