I know I’m super late to the Fenty Beauty party but I had to say a little something because I, along with everyone else got caught up in the hype! It seemed the hype was for good reason, the reviews have been pretty impressive. (I watched a lot of Fenty YouTube reviews before I went to look for myself. I was in the hype from a distance!)

Beauty For All

The tag line, Beauty For All. Which is why this launch excited me, that Rhianna as a black woman would be creating products that would be more inclusive to her and women alike. Although her darkest shade that they offer at present, could go darker still. I’m sure that’ll be taken on board and will vary their range even wider later on. For a first attempt in beauty still pretty good going, especially compared to the other brands out there. Over all, inclusion is why Rhianna’s range has had such a big impact, especially for us black women. (Which is probably why most of the darker shades were sold out so soon).

40 Shades

Launching with 40 shades of foundation is amazing. Also to compliment the shades there were the shimmers and the matchsticks for highlighting and contouring. The shimmers look so nice used as eyeshadows too. I overloaded on the reviews from the YouTube world (they did all my research for me!) My favourites, such as Patricia Bright, Beauty By JJ, Shirley B, I watched them all and more.

Usual Basics

I’m not really one to go all in on makeup, contouring, false lashes etc. M.A.C. is usually my go to, using the concealer pots and mixing with my moisturiser to even out my skin tone for my everyday makeup look. You know, the basics, I generally stick with my favourites. I have been looking for something with a bit more coverage but not still not heavy. I’ve tried others still a bit too heavy for my liking, I feel like I’m wearing a mask. I think Fenty might be just the right amount of coverage I’m looking for to take it up a notch.

Finding Fenty

Finally, I did go to Sephora to check out the Fenty makeup for myself. I swatched a couple of shades, 430 seems like the best suited for me. Shade 430 was sold out but I did get a small sample to try. I might even go all out and try the matchsticks contouring for the odd occasion for a more polished look. I will be definitely but signing up for notifications of the restocks, so I can try out a full face. It’s just a matter of finding out when Fenty is going to restocked again. I feel like there’s going to be another mad rush when the next lot comes out. This time however I will be ready to purchase my supplies!
