I’m always looking all over for inspiration in all places. The places I’ve been, would like to go. And if I don’t go anywhere, Pinterest will do for a couple of hours! A place that’s been on my list to visit for a while is the St. George Kimpton hotel in Toronto. I love the design of it, the lobby gives me a Japandi style vibe and is so carefully decorated. But not so as to feel like you’re not welcome. In fact it’s quite the opposite. It could be your home, with the tables with the favourite coffee books, and low and deep sofas clustered with cushions.
The interiors is by the Toronto firm Mason Studio. And all the beautiful accessories seen through out the boutique hotel by Arts and Objects. I love the warm colours used and the Asian influence of the design. The wooden arches in the lobby that double as open bookshelves for the entry as the lounge.
I really love the Asian style of the design mixed with the playful objects and interesting fixtures like the wall light. The layered rugs create more of a cozy, homely feel. Lots of different textures like marble have been used to balance the wood elements. A custom wall mural by Wes Cover a joint collaboration with Tisha Myles. Feature walls can still work!
As you move from the downstairs lobby and entrance, the colour palette transitions to neutral shades for the bedrooms and bathrooms. As well as the gorgeous bedrooms, the ensuite bathrooms are just as nice. A soaking bath tub with in a wet room a perfect way to relax at the end of day.
I’m looking for a reason to go and visit the Toronto Kimpton hotel soon, so I can experience it for myself! If you’ve already visited leave a comment below!
