I love this time of the year. The last 3 months of the year Autumn going in to Winter with so many celebrations to looks forward to. Thanksgivings, Christmas and Halloween. Everyone is getting creative for costumes, for decoration and for dinners. I’ve been scrolling on Pinterest looking for ideas for decorative table layouts. I feel like this time of of the year the colours can be moody and dramatic. Mixed with lux layers and fabrics for your table too. I’ve spent some time picking my favourite table layouts and thought I’d share my top 10 favourites….

Modern Table Setting

Think simple and minimal. 3 colours max. Whites, blacks and metallics and understated dinner ware. A nice non fussy, unified  style with an elegant over all look. Consistent and stream lined. Let the foliage and the flowers do the talking. Use something different like pine cones or red cabbages used in the photo for tying in  the purple theme colour.

Rustic Table Setting

With all the colours of Fall and going in to Winter you can come up with some really interesting combinations. Reds, browns, and purples. Dried flowers and grasses are a nice way to go too. Mix them up in the centre pieces or make them stand out by adding stems to your name card and dinner plate. Natural materials, woods and warmer tones. Mixed with natural linens like muslins and cottons. You can go subdued or vibrant.

The Eclectic Table Setting

Bordering between moody and creative. Adding a few more details and lots more colour. Jewel tones with contrasting back drops. Mixing and not necessarily matching is the way to go here. Blues with oranges, mix different foliage and flowers in. Seasonal fruit makes for a whimsical look. Play around with different shapes and sizes for decoration. Try a moody or a rich look.

Dramatic Table Setting

Think Dolce & Gabbana for this look. More is more. Just as long as there’s enough space for the food and the dinner plates. Embellishments, beads and jewels and vintage finds for decor pieces. Large bouquets of flowers, deep and dark sumptuous colours. More luxurious fabrics laces, velvet and satin. Layers and more layers and bring out your best crystal for this look!
