Having an all-white bedroom gives a feel of freshness, calm and understated simplicity. If you feel that just a white finish is too cold and stark then using antique white in your bedroom is a lovely option.
Antique white is an off-white that has a rustic sophisticated charm about it. You’ll see antique white used in the French Country style a lot. A popular colour for that kind of design style as it’s a warm neutral that works well with the shabby chic look.
This is an interior guide on how you can use the colour antique white bedroom for a dreamy and calming bedroom space. And without having to go with a bedroom furniture set. But still creating that easy elegance that a transitional bedroom offers.
Here’s my design take for a white antique bedroom…

This beaded chandelier is just the right mix of shabby chic and sophistication.
A gorgeous four-poster bed is exactly what your bedroom needs to fit the French Country look. The Whitaker bed is an understated wooden bed frame with a simple shaped headboard to get the classic elegant look.
This bed comes in queen size, a king size or a California king from Serena & Lily.
I chose a still-life art print in neutral colours that will work well in an antique white bedroom.
A patterned rug under the bed adds lots of warmth and texture to the bedroom space.
These ceramic bud vases are super cute for the nightstands and the dresser. Keep the vases grouped together as a set of three or spread them out across the bedroom for cute and dainty floral arrangements.
As these are smaller items you can play around with shape and scale when it comes to the rest of the decor you choose.
If a white paint finish is too plain for you, this Turia wallpaper has a beautiful medallion motif in a natural colour. It isn’t overbearing and the pattern gives a rich rustic feel to the bedroom.
The Harbor dresser from Crate and Barrel is very similar in style to the open nightstands. However, the dresser holds more weight to it which balances out the open nightstands and the canopy bed.
Extra seating is always handy to have in the bedroom. These upholstered stools are easy to move around the bedroom. You can go for a single stool or double up two stools side by side. Which is a good idea if you’re part of a couple!
Switching up the bedding with a pattern every now and then always keeps your bedroom fresh and new.
This medallion pattern on the bedding mimics the wallpaper pattern. And will add life and interest to your space whether you’ve opted for a printed wallpaper or kept a neutral paint colour. It definitely has a vintage charm to it.
It’s nice to use fabric in different areas of the bedroom, other than the seating and bedding. These fabric boxes are a nice touch and hide away your little bits and pieces.
I like how there’s a subtle barely there pattern on the antiqued ceramic lamps. A nice detail to the table lamps from Pottery Barn.
That wraps up this design guide! I’ve chosen neutral colours for a lot of the decor as the theme for antique white. But soft blues, greens and greys are a great match for the French Country style as well.
I hope you enjoyed my design take on the antique white bedroom and it’s sparked some inspiration for your own ideas!
